Granit Xhaka extends stay at the Emirates as he signs new contract

The Swiss midfielder has signed another long-term contract with the north London club for 4 years.

This comes after weeks of speculations linking the Arsenal playmaker with former Hotspurs coach Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma. Granit Xhaka who has been a key player for the north Londoners was close to joining the Italian outfit Roma.

Two bids from AS Roma were reportedly turned down as Mikel Arteta wants the midfielder to remain in north London.

Granit Xhaka was of high importance to the Gunners in their 2-1 defeat to Chelsea as Xhaka scored the goal for Arsenal with a resounding header from Nicolas Pépé’s corner kick.
