Arsenal we’re up again Rangers and the formation was quite juicy and okay but wasn’t enough to give the north Londoners a win.
Following a woeful defeat if Arsenal by Hibernian there was need for improvement and substitution of players which was done. Factually, it’d be safe to say that Arsenal filed their best squad for the match today but still met Waterloo though they didn’t completely lose the match today but left with a 2-2 draw against the home team.
Arteta maintained Arthur Okonkwo in the goal despite his mistake that led to the goal in their match against Hibernian. He was a bit fantastic but it wasn’t enough to give the Gunners a lead.
The defense had the likes of Pablo Mari and Rob Holding at CB, Cedric at the RB and the newly signed wonder kid Nuno Tavares at the LB.
The midfield was more intended with the introduction of Thomas Partey who partnered Mohammed Elneny and the in-form Emile Smith Rowe.
The Forwards had Folarin Balogun who made his debut for the Emirates outfit by leading the attack with Aubameyang at the left flank and Pepe to the right.
Balogun failed to impress the Arsenal boss as he headed a goal home thereby giving the home team a lead against his side. Such a disappointing show but it never took long before the perfect strike from Nuno Tavares leveled Arsenal.
The first half finished with a 1-1 draw while the second half began in earnest. Arsenal trailed behind again with a 2-1 aggregate but all thanks for the substitute of Eddie Nketia who netted a late equalizer to level the Gunners with the home side.
Things to Upgrade in the Squad
The Emirates outfit defense was floppy as usual and some careless mistakes were made which led to the goals but the players played well. The defense needs to tighten up more to stop opposition breaking into the final third.
The midfield played a vital role but the forwards were not able to convert the passes given them. Aubameyang didn’t turn up and was seen running to and fro the pitch. If the Gunners are ready to contend for the Premier League trophy then they need must brace up and get some good signings in the midfield and forward before the transfer window closes.
